What is 4G wireless broadband?

4G is the new wireless technology specifically designed to deliver high speed data. Data speed will depend on the network capacity of the provider. Our network typically has 4 to 6 times the capacity of any other 4G operator’s planned network, allowing us to deploy much higher capacity wireless services.

How does it work?

4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) wireless broadband offers higher data speeds because it uses the airwaves more efficiently. This means more users can access high-speed broadband at the same time.

Isn’t 4G a mobile service?

4G is a wireless technology which can be used for mobile broadband, which we will be offering in the future, but it also provides a great alternative to fixed services for home and business broadband.

Why is the service only available in some areas?

The 4G wireless network is new to the UK. now broadband has launched in some areas already and, as the network infrastructure is developed across the country, our service will continue to expand into other areas.

Is your service available in my area?

How fast will my broadband be?

now broadband offers download speeds of up to 40Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5Mbps. Use our coverage checker to find out what speeds you can expect in your area.

Can I use the modem or router I already have?

You need our high-speed 4G nowBox to receive the 4G signal. This will provide the WiFi for your whole home. However, if you already have a WiFi router that you would prefer to use, simply plug this in to the nowBox using the Ethernet cable provided.

My office is quite large, can I still use this service?

Yes, you can use now broadband. Just give us a call on 020 3006 7795 so we can put together the right package to suit your needs.

Can I connect my mobile phone or tablet as well as my computer?

You can connect any WiFi enabled device to your 4G nowBox. It also has ports to connect devices via an Ethernet cable (included with your nowBox).

Is your Premium service faster than the Standard service?

All our packages offer the same speeds of on average up to 40Mbps download and 5Mbps upload, though sometimes they may be faster. Our Premium service prioritises traffic so that heavy users - gamers or those working from home, for example - can continue to benefit from the best speeds, even during peak times.

Should I cancel my current broadband?

With our 14-day money-back guarantee you can try out the service first. If you are happy with the service then you can decide whether to cancel your existing contract.

How will I be billed?

Your monthly bill will be published in the ‘My account’ section of the website. You can choose whether payments are taken by direct debit or by recurring credit/debit card payments every month. When you order the service you will need to pay any relevant set-up fees and the first monthly payment in advance by credit or debit card.

What happens after I sign up?

Simply choose a date for delivery and we will send your nowBox and a SIM card to your preferred delivery address. Then all you have to do is to insert the SIM into the SIM Card Slot on the nowBox, plug it in and you’re ready to log in and start enjoying now broadband.

What if I have a problem?

Just call our 24/7 helpline on 0345 165 0259. If we can’t resolve your problem first time around, an engineer will call you back within business hours.

What should I do if I forget my username?

You just need to give us a call on our 24/7 helpline on 0345 165 0259.  Usernames cannot be changed online.

What should I do if I forget my password?

There is an option to reset the password at the login or you can call us on our 24/7 helpline on 0345 165 0259. Passwords can be changed online, if you can login.

Installation

Does an engineer need to come round to install now broadband?

No. With now broadband there’s no hanging around waiting for an engineer. Simply receive your nowBox, plug it in and you’re up-and-running.

How quickly can I get the service if I order today?

We can deliver your nowBox in as little as three days excluding Sundays, Public or Bank holidays. Select your preferred delivery date and address when placing your order and we’ll do the rest.

Why do you ask me what floor I live on?

As this is a wireless broadband service, where you place your nowBox can affect signal strength. It is likely that the signal will be better in an upper storey. If your business is located over several floors, you may get a faster service if you place your nowBox near an upstairs window.

Where do I place the nowBox?

It can go anywhere you have power. We recommend placing it close to a window for the best signal and you may find it works better upstairs.

If I already have WiFi access points set up, can I still use now broadband?

Yes, you can plug the nowBox into your existing WiFi system. To talk to us about your specific requirements just give us a call on 020 3006 7795.

How do my customers connect to the network?

An SSID and password is provided with every nowBox, which means as soon as you plug it in your customers can connect to the service via WiFi.

Can I change my SSID and password?

Yes, your nowBox has a web-based interface to manage its connectivity. To access, connect to your nowBox using the Ethernet cable provided (not WiFi). In your web browser, enter the device website printed on the back of your nowBox and log in using the device password provided. You can then change this password if you would like.
  
To change your WiFi SSID, go into General Settings and select WLAN settings. Simply scroll down to SSID and enter your preferred name. To change your password (or network key) scroll down to WPA-PSK and enter your preferred password of a minimum of eight characters. Then click the submit button. Once complete, you can disconnect the wired connection and your new SSID should be available in your wireless connections.

Can I only use my 4G nowBox at work or can I take it with me?

Your nowBox can be used anywhere in the coverage area where you have access to power. Check the coverage checker to see if your planned location is covered.

What if I don’t get a good signal at work?

now broadband offers a 14-day money-back guarantee so you can try out the service first. If you are having problems, first call our helpdesk, but if for any reason we cannot solve the problem due to factors beyond our control, so long as the service is cancelled within 7 days and the equipment return within 14 days, you will receive a full refund.
